The following email announcement and discussion lists are publically available for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wilmington:
You must agree to the Mailing Behavioral List Covenant before you can subscribe to the email lists.
This announcement list helps UUFW leaders keep members, friends, and visitors informed of important news, events, and activities. Messages include event reminders, information that may have missed the newsletter publication deadline, and changes to previously published dates. This list is moderated, and only intended to broadcast announcements.
You can subscribe to the News List below, or contact Sue Graffins.
Read more information about sending messages to this list.
UUFW is not all about sermons, or music, or committees, or Religious Education -- although they are all wonderful and appreciated, UUFW is much more because of the wonderful PEOPLE we meet when we attend UUFW and its functions. Often we want to share something with everyone in the congregation. We might do this by lighting a candle during Joys and Sorrows, or by sending an email.
Unlike the "News" list, "UUFamily" list is unmoderated. Messages will immediately be sent to all the list members. You may send party invitations, ask for rides, or brag about your chidren. You may sell items, inquire after other peoples' interests, or ask us to support social or political issues. Any message that you feel comfortable sending to the entire membership (plus new friends and visitors you may have never met in person!) is appropriate on this list.
Only members of the list will be able to send email to the list (this helps prevent spam). To participate in the "UUFamily" discussion list, you must agree to the Behavioral Covenant below. This covenant was drafted by the Publicity and Communications Committee and approved by the UUFW Board in February 2005.
You can subscribe to the News List below, or contact Sue Graffins. Once you are subscribed, you may post a message by writing an email to uufamily-at-uufwilmington.org.
UUFW reserves the right to suspend participants from lists who violate standards and rules of this covenant. Decisions on suspension are delegated to the list manager but may be reviewed by the Board upon request.
I will think carefully before posting, especially if I am upset. I will not shout (which in email is writing in ALL CAPS). When dealing with a negative issue, I will conduct the conversation face-to-face and not on the list. List managers may use their discretion when deciding whether messages are problematic. If an individual persists in posting offensive or harassing messages, the list managers may ban the individual from the mailing list, or from all UUFW mailing lists.
I will not send private email through this list. If I wish to respond privately to a post, I will select “respond to sender.” I will not forward virus warnings, chain letters, or humor that does not specifically relate to the topic of the list. When posting, I will add value to the discussion or not post at all (replying “me too” usually does not add value).
I will not send attachments, including Word files or photographs, because many subscribers' e-mail programs cannot deal with attached files. Please remember that if your email is formatted with HTML (if it displays in color, with a background or images to enhance it) some people will not see the nice effects, but instead an unreadable garble. Plain text can be read by everyone.
UUFW mailing lists are managed by volunteers in accordance with the guidelines of this covenant. Inappropriate language directed at list managers, or engaging in protracted arguments about a decision, may result in a subscriber being blocked from participation on a given list or all UUFW-run lists. Please direct problems and administrative requests to the list manager and do not post them on the public list.
Once I hit send, I cannot take it back.
